Protect the entry points!

At Plural Alarms, doors and windows are equipped with impact sensitive Shock Sensor Technology to protect all points of access to your home, whether you are at home or not. This technology is very easy to use and understand.

It is simply mounted on the door and window frames so that our shock sensor system automatically triggers an alarm if someone tries to enter.

Our detectors have sophisticated filters that can distinguish intruders' movements from environmental factors. With our highly sensitive sensors, we can detect the burglar before he enters a home or business.

What is a Shock Sensor Detector?

The shock sensor detector is designed to detect the occurrence of shocks or impacts in your home, even when your doors or windows are closed.

It's a very useful tool for any kind of home automation project. It uses a piezoelectric sensor that is installed into the door frame.

How Does A Shock Sensor Detector Work?

Immediately after receiving a shock, the piezoelectric sensor sends a signal to the control unit which in turn turns on the sprinklers or activates the alarm.

The shock sensor is very sensitive because it will detect any impact that may be less than 1/1000 of an inch away. In fact, the shock sensor will register the shock even when the door or window is closed.

There is no danger of the shock sensor being defeated by a burglar. After all, a burglar would have to force the door open to defeat the shock sensor.

Importance of Shock Sensor Detector

Your home is the biggest investment you will ever make. Therefore, it is important that you protect this investment.

A properly installed shock sensor can help you do this by warning you if someone tries to force entry into your home by jimmying the door lock. A door frame-mounted shock sensor is less likely to be defeated than a door-mounted sensor.

In addition, a door frame-mounted sensor will give you a broader warning than a door-mounted sensor. For example, if someone is trying to break into your house and forces open the front door, the shock of the opening door shock may not reach the piezoelectric sensor mounted to the door frame. But, it will almost certainly reach the one mounted to the door itself.

Another very useful application for this little gadget is as an impact or vibration detector. This means that if something falls or is thrown against the door, the shock sensor will detect the impact and send out a wireless signal to one of our control units.

This is very useful for fire alarms. Imagine this scenario: Your house is on fire and you are outside trying to fight the blaze with a garden hose. If you could activate your sprinkler system from outside without having to get back inside your home, it would be really helpful.

Well, we can do that with a simple door or window sensor. But, let's suppose that we want to use the impact detector feature of the shock sensor.
